Let’s jazz things up, Bristol!

As this month gets off to an unfortunately dreary start, we are excited to see the return of the Bristol Jazz and Blues Festival at various venues across the city next week from 16th-19th March.

The festival was created four years ago by Colin Gorrie and Denny Ilett who shared a belief that a city like Bristol needed, and very much deserved, a high calibre festival dedicated to the wonder that is jazz and blues. Bristol has a long history with this spectacular genre of music which dates back to the 50s and 60s when Colston Hall hosted incredible stars such as Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and even Ella Fitzgerald.

The Jazz and Blues Festival programme is designed to appeal to all music lovers, regardless of age or taste, and over the past three years the event has attracted a hugely diverse audience.

Now in its fourth year, the festival looks set to be its biggest yet and the line up will include some remarkable artists such as Macy Gray, Metropolis, The Big Swing, Quantic…and those are to name but a few! Venues are dotted across the city with live acts taking place predominantly at our wonderful Colston Hall. There are a variety of interactive workshops taking place also so make sure you keep an eye out if you’d like to take part.
