The wonderful women of Bristol

A couple of weeks back on 8th March we celebrated International Women’s Day (go ladies!) Following on from this, Arnos Vale is hosting a tour of Bristol’s Wonderful Women this coming Saturday and we think it sounds fab…

Arnos Vale Cemetery is the place of remembrance for an estimated 150,000 girls and women from Bristol’s history. This tour focuses on the stories of different women, all of who have incredibly compelling stories and have well earned their place in the history of this incredible city of ours. With the lives they led and the contributions each of them made to society as we know it today, the tour sounds brilliantly empowering and is an opportunity to explore the beautiful grounds of Arnos Vale too. And to top it off, there will then be a talk held by author Jane Duffus about “The Women who built Bristol” too (make sure you check out her fab book here which includes 250 inspiring women – I have added this straight to my wishlist!)

There’ll be a repeat of this event in May too so make sure you get booked up as it looks set to be a popular one.

Girls, we’ve come a long way and must celebrate our amazing achievements together!
