Simba comes to Bristol!

Last Wednesday I went to see Disney’s The Lion King at the Hippodrome and for anyone who hasn’t yet seen it, I just cannot put into words how incredible the production is.

The story is just the same as Disney’s with Simba on a wonderful adventure to fulfil his destiny as King of the Pridelands and the stage adaptation is just BRILLIANT. From the opening scene with the Circle of Life I was grinning from ear to ear at how beautifully done it all was and the addition of music and rhythms of Africa throughout gave me goosebumps! The whole gang is included on stage with Simba, Mufasa, Zazu, Nala, Scar, the hilarious hyenas, Rafiki (star of the show for me) and the unbeatable Pumbaa and Timon who had the entire theatre laughing with their hilarious renditions of Hakuna Matata and the Hula Dance.

The costumes, set decoration and back drops were some of the best I’ve ever seen and the score was magical in every single way – it’s easy to see why this one is multi-award winning and I’d go back to see it again tomorrow if I could!

Running until 23rd November, make sure you get your tickets booked for this one – I promise you won’t regret it!
