Where to go for beautiful bluebells this spring…

What a superb few days of sunshine we’ve all just had here in Bristol! After such a lovely bank holiday it’s got us to thinking about all of the fantastic places we have for walking here in our wonderful city. With spring well and truly here, is there a better way to spend an afternoon than strolling through the bluebells?! Below are some of our favourite spots…

Leigh Woods
Glorious National Trust woodland, Leigh Woods has amazing views over the Avon Gorge also. Just a hop, skip and jump over the Clifton Suspension Bridge and you’re into bluebells a plenty – a must if you haven’t been there before.

Ashton Court
What’s not to love about Ashton Court? Walking paths, deer parks, amazing manor house, bike trails, woodland walks…one of our absolute favourite places in all of Bristol and home of the International Balloon Fiesta too.

Tyntesfield
You readers will know how much we love the National Trust and our wonderful Tyntesfield. Surrounded by gardens, parklands and beautiful, rare trees this one is a real treat for spring flowers and it has a fab café for a coffee and cake pit-stop also.

Prior’s Wood Nature Reserve
Once part of the lovely Tyntesfield, Prior’s Wood is now one of the best places around Bristol for a spring walk with fields and fields of bluebells – really gorgeous and worth a visit.

Wrington
One of the prettiest places I have ever seen, this small patch of woodland nestled away near to Goblin Combe in Wrington really took my breath away last year. It’s about a 25 minute drive out of Bristol but really is beautiful and there are plenty of walks around to make the trip worth while.

With not much planned for this coming weekend just yet, I’ve got an idea where I’ll be headed…let’s make the most of the spring weather and get outside!
