An egg-ceptional Easter weekend in Bristol!

It’s that time of year again folks – our favourite long bank holiday weekend is here and there is LOTS going on in Bristol!

With the first ever Easter egg made in Bristol, it’s no wonder that we all go a little chocolate crazy at this time of year and this coming weekend will be no exception with egg hunts and Easter events galore.

Eggstravaganza at the zoo is running right through to the end of the school holidays and is hosting all sorts of egg trails and craft activities with clues hidden on a trail throughout their lovely gardens.

Head to the SS Great Britain this weekend and meet live animals who travelled abroad the ship in the Rigger’s Yard including lambs, chicks, a goat and even a little donkey! There is an Easter Animal Trail aboard the ship also with chocolate rewards along the way.

The Harbour Hotel will be hosting Taste Chocolate, Bristol’s biggest chocolate festival on Friday and Saturday. The event will see some of the country’s best chocolate producers with over 30 exhibitors, chocolate demonstrations, a Prosecco bar and much more! There will also be lots of artisan food and drink producers on site selling all kinds of tasty treats so you can make a real day of it. Local food, chocolate and fizz? Sign me up please!

If you’re looking for something a little different, check out the underground egg hunt at Cheddar Gorge where a team of expert cavers have hidden a series of glow in the dark eggs within the wonderful Cheddar caves.

There are of course Easter services being held at churches throughout the city and there will be fireworks at the Grand Pier in Weston too.

These are just a small selection of the fun that is in store for the weekend and with the sunshine looking like it’s going to stay until well into next week, the bank holiday looks set to be a good one. Happy Easter everyone!
