A bit of childhood nostalgia with the magnificent Quentin Blake…

So, we will all have one author that will stick with us from childhood and a bunch of great reads from when we were younger which will always hold some lovely memories. Mine is without any shadow of a doubt the legend that was Roald Dahl.

I spent countless hours engrossed in each of his brilliant books and I still have my collection of them to this day so I was so very excited to learn of the collection of signed limited edition prints of Quentin Blake’s illustrations from my favourite stories that are currently on sale.

Quentin Blake’s drawings were just as important a part of Roald Dahl’s novels as the stories themselves for me and I am chuffed to bits to have been able to track down a copy of a beautiful Matilda print which arrived at home for me last week. There are lots of different prints available in galleries throughout the country and the full collection can be found online with Aquarelle Publishing (who are absolutely lovely and helpful to deal with if you need to contact them). Whether your favourite be The Witches, The Twits, George’s Marvellous Medicine, Fantastic Mr Fox, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or one of so many more, there are some beautiful prints to choose from, each signed by Quentin Blake himself and with a charming quote underneath the illustration – who could resist The BFG’s “You is asking me to tell you whoppsy big secrets…” hanging on the living room wall?!

I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving my Roald Dahl collection. I’m in the process of moving house with my husband and I think once Matilda is put into place on the wall in our new home, I shall fish out my most beloved book (which I’ve now had for more than twenty five years!) and curl up with her again on the sofa…
